Underwater Cairngorms


Standing on An Cārn Gorm (Cairngorm mountain) you can look down to the valleys in Badenoch and Strathspey revealing many bodies of water; lochs and rivers… Underwater Cairngorms explores the sounds of this waterscape.



Underwater Cairngorms was funded by Creative Scotland and supported by Buglife, Nature Scot and the Cairngorms National Park Authority. Underwater Cairngorms follows on from Mhairi and David de la Haye's pilot project (see Background).  It is a unique partnership fusing the arts and environment. It pioneered gathering acoustic data from Badenoch and Strathspey, and created new music released by Hudson Records in a beautiful freshwater blue vinyl.
